Needles shopping

Con l'acquisto di un fondotinta da Boots, la settimana scorsa, ho "guadagnato" un buono sconto di £5 sui prodotti No.7 così oggi sono tornata al negozio con l'intenzione di comprarmi un mascara e BASTA! Ma poi ho scoperto che c'era il 3x2......sono rimasta convinta di  comprare il mio mascara fino a quando la commessa (quando l'ho visto ho avuto un piccolo sussulto:ombretto azzurro, mascara dato male, troppo blush e un fortissimo rossetto arancio) non ha attaccato bottone suggerendomi il loro nuovo mascara "Exquisite Curl", mascara incurvante. Ho deciso di rimettere a posto il mascara che avevo preso e di dire alla commessa "Si, proviamolo!". La commessa mi ha quindi dato il nuovo mascara e detto: "Benissimo, è fantastico, lo uso anch'io!". Qui ho avuto un secondo sussulto e ho quasi pensato di rimettere il mascara a posto!
Insomma, la commessa mi ha fatto notare che c'era il 3x2 e io non sapevo assolutamente cosa comprare. Alla fine la mia scelta è ricaduta su un eyeliner verde smeraldo (Metallic Eyes Pencil 01 Green) e un blush corallo (12 Coral Flush - ne avevano solo 4 tra i quali scegliere!). Non sono super-soddisfatta del blush, non sembra nulla di speciale...magari cambierò idea quando lo utilizzerò. Tutto sommato ho avuto un prodotto gratis e un altro scontato di 5 sterline : )

Purchasing a foundation in Boots last week I "earned" a voucher of £5 on No.7 products, so, today, I decided to go back to the shop to buy a mascara and NOTHING ELSE! But I soon found out that there was a 3x2 offer ongoing......I kept being attached to my mascara till the shop assistant (I had a little shock when I saw her:bright blue eyeshadow, mascara badly layered mascara, too much blush and a vivid orangy lipstick) aspproached me suggesting me to try their new mascara "Exquisite Curl". I decided to put the mascara I had taken back on the shelf and I told the shop assistant "Ok, let's try it!" The shop assistant,handing me the new mascara, said: It's fantastic, I use it everytime!"" Thast's when I had a second shock-moment and I almost thought to leave the mascara there!
At last the shop assistant pointed out the 3x2 offer but I didn't know what to buy. In the end I decided to buy a green eye pencil (Metallic Eyes Pencil 01 Green) and a coral blush (12 Coral Flush - they only had 4 to chose from!)I'm not overenthusiastic about the blush, it doesn't seem to be anything special...but I might change my opinion when I try it. After all I got one product for free and another discounted! :)

The Metal Grey Eyeliner Obsession

Non vi è mai capitato di desiderare con passione qualcosa tanto da diventare un'ossessione? :) Beh, ultimamente ho cominciato a desiderare ardentemente un eyeliner grigio metallizzato! Ho quindi deciso di provare la SHIMMER EYELINER PENCIL in GUNMETAL della e.l.f. (1.70€) .
La tonalità di grigio mi piace moltissimo, la matita contiene dei piccolissimi glitterini all'interno e include un temperino nel tappo (che è sempre in giro sul mio tavolo perchè lo uso per tutte le matite!). Non mi aspettavo, tuttavia, che la consistenza dell'eyeliner fosse così cremosa (nel bene e nel male), cio' la rende perfetta come base per uno smoky. Speravo di poter utilizzare questa matita nella rima interna dell'occhio ma purtroppo svanisce rapidamente; la fisso sempre con un po' di ombretto dopo aver tracciato una linea sulla palpebra perchè i miei occhi hanno la capacità di far sparire qualsiasi cosa!

 Voglio prendere altri colori??Sìììì

(Nello swatch potete ancora vedere le tracce dei cream eyeliners e.l.f. - ho deciso di non togliere lo swatch dalla mano e andarci a dormire:la mattina erano ancora lì! Un po' sbiaditi ovviamente ma i colori erano ancora riconoscibili. Questo è il risultato dopo aver raschiato la mano sotto la doccia - ehm, sì, era più semplice usare lo struccante....)

Have you ever felt the wish to possess something to the point that it has become an obsession for you? :) Well, lately I've started to develop a craving for a metal grey eyeliner! I've decided to try the e.l.f. SHIMMER EYELINER PENCIL in GUNMETAL (£1.50).
I l♥ve the shade, the eyeliner contains little glitters and comes with a sharpener in the cap (which I always leave around as I use it for all my pencils!). I was not expecting the eyeliner to have such a creamy consistency (for better or for worse), that makes it perfect for a smoky look. I hoped I could use this pencil on my waterline but it easily fades away; I always set it with a bit of eyeshadow after tracing a line on my eyelid because my eyes have the power to make everything disappear!

Do I want to get the other shades? Yeeeees

(In my swatch you can still see some traces of the e.l.f. cream eyeliner - I've decided to leave the swatch on my hand and go to bed: the next morning they were still there! Obviously the color had faded but you could still see it. That is the result of some rubbing under the shower  ehm, yes, it would have been easier to use a cleanser....)

E.l.f. Cream Eyeliners

Credo che oramai molte conoscano questo prodotto perchè è uno dei migliori CREAM EYELINER a basso prezzo (4€) di buona qualità. Si presenta in una piccola confezione di plastica trasparente che contiene 4.7g di prodotto. Sul sito e.l.f. sono disponibili 8 tonalità. Qui sotto vi mostro: PURPLE, BLACK, METALLIC OLIVE e COFFEE. Black e Coffee sono matt mentre Purple e Metallic Olive sono shimmer anche se non eccessivamente. L'eyeliner è waterproof, si asciuga rapidamente e non sbava. Dopo lo swatch ho sfregato varie volte sulla mano e l'eyeliner non si è mosso, il colore è rimasto vivido come dopo l'applicazione! Ho però notato che, dopo vari utilizzi, si crea una sottile patina in superficie e che bisogna scavare sotto di questa per prendere il prodotto ancora "fresco". Inoltre sembra che l'eyeliner si secchi facilmente se esposto all'aria perciò chiudete bene la scatolina anche tra un'applicazione e l'altra.
La confezione contiene anche un piccolo pennellino angolato  in fibre sintetiche in omaggio. Sinceramente non mi trovo bene ad applicare il cream eyerliner con questo pennellino in quanto le setole si piegano troppo non consentendomi di essere precisa sullo spessore della linea che voglio tracciare.

A seconda della pressione può capitare di tracciare una linea sottile o molto più spessa. Preferisco quindi utilizzare un'altro pennello, sempre della e.l.f., lo Small Smuge Brush.

I believe lots of you already know the product I'm going to talk about today because it is one of the best affordable CREAM EYELINERS (£3.50) around. The eyeliner comes in a plastic jar and contains 4.7g of product. Eight shades are available on the E.l.f. website. Here I want to show you: PURPLE, BLACK, METALLIC OLIVE and COFFEE. Black and Coffee have a matt finish, Purple and Metallic Olive are slightly shimmer. These eyeliners is waterproof, they dry off quickly and don't smudge. After swatching the products I rubbed my hand for some time but the eyeliners didn't smudge at all and the colour kept was still bright and vivid. I've notice that, after some applications, a thin layer creates on the surfice and you need "to dig" below it to get the product. It also seems that the cream eyeliner dries out very quickly if exposed to the air so remember to close the jar even between the application to one eye and the other.

The jar comes with a little tiny angled brush in synthetic bristles. To be hones I don't really like the little brush for applying the cream eyeliner as the bristles bend too easily, as you can see in the picture above. The don't allow to be precise about the thickness of the line I want to draw. According to how much pressure you make on the brush you can draw a very thin or a very thick line. I prefer to apply it with another brush by elf, the Small Smudge Brush.

A cosa mi sto riferendo? Al PRIMER per l'ombretto. Da quando ho scoperto l'esistenza di questo primer il mio mondo è cambiato. xD

Sono sicura che oramai tutte voi sanno cosa è un primer, per quelle che non lo sapessero, un primer è un prodotto che "fissa" l'ombretto e lo mantiene sulla palpebra per tutta la giornata (o quasi).

Le mie palpebre sono molto oleose e ho provato diversi primer...l'unico che mi ha lasciato pienamente soddisfatta è il meraviglio (e famosissimo) EYESHADOW PRIMER POTION della Urban Decay.

Una volta che il prodotto viene steso (ne basta pochissimo) risulta assolutamente trasparente sulla palpebra. Prima di applicare l'ombretto è necessario attendere qualche secondo: quando sentirete che il primer è diventato leggermente appiccicoso è il momento dell'ombretto.

Una normale confezione contiene 10ml di prodotto e dura a luuuungo. Per le foto ho utilizzato l'edizione mignon in regalo con la Naked Palette ♥

L'unica nota  negativa è la confezione: molta carina dal punto di vista estetico (molto orientaleggiante) non risulta essere altrettanto pratica. Lo scovolino è incurvato ma non è sufficiente per prelevare il prodotto che rimane attaccato ai lati del tubetto. Perciò munitevi di forbici o di un coltello, una volta che lo scovolino non sarà più utile, e trasferite ciò che resta in una jar. Su Youtube potete trovare centinaia di video in merito!

Da qualche tempo la UD abbia creato una confezione in tubetto ma non l'ho ancora vista in giro....Il tubetto contiene più del doppio del prodotto(25ml) ma anche il prezzo è raddoppiato!

What am I talking about? I'm talking about the eyeshadow PRIMER. This primer turned my world upside down. xD 

I am sure everybody knows what a primer is but, for those who don't, a primer is a base that makes your eyeshadow stay on (almost) all day long and prevents it from creasing. My eyelids are very oily and I've tried a few primers but the only one that really works for me is the gorgeous (and famous) EYESHADOW PRIMER POTION by Urban Decay. Once you have applied the produt to your eyelid (a small amount goes a long way) the product will have a sheer finish. You need to wait a few secs before applying the eyeshadow as the primer needs to be slightly tacky.UD Primer Potion comes in a 10ml tube but for the photos I used the mini edition that I got with my Naked Palette ♥

On a negative note I've got to say that the packaging is not superb: it's appealing (it reminds me of the Orient) but it's not handy at all. The wand is slightly bent but that's not enough to get all the product out as it sticks to the sides of the bottle. So get yourself a pair of scissors or a knife, once the wand is no longer useful, and place what remains in a jar. On Youtube you can find hundreds of videos about that.

UD launched a version of the Primer Potion in a squeezable tube but I still haven't seen it around here. It's a jumbo tube, doubled in size (actually more than double size - 25ml) and in price too!
